Model Orifice and Nozzle flow calculator
Notes

1. This slide rule determines the flow rates of fluids through various types of orifices and nozzles. The formula used is:

      W = 0.04 C d2 Ö (h  r )

where:
W = mass flow, kg/h
d = orifice or nozzle throat diameter, mm
h = pressure difference, millibar
r = density of fluid, kg/m3
C = overall orifice or nozzle coefficient

2. The front of the slide rule solves this formula for liquids gases or steam whilst the reverse side finds the overall orifice or nozzle coefficient for liquides and the expansibility coefficient for gases.

3. Among the functions possible are:
   - Flow for liquids, gases or steam is the orifice coefficient is known.
   - Flow in terms of mass or volume
   - Orifice and nozzle coefficients
   - Expansibility correction for gases and steam
   - Net pressure loss
