Make Nestler, Germany but sold by Negretti & Zambra of London
Model Not marked but probably No. 14
Notes

1. This is a fairly basic Reitz rule.

2. It was sold by Negretti and Zambra. To be more accurate it was sold to me in a box by Negretti and Zambra but as it had belonged to the father of the woman who sold it to me, its provenance is fairly certain. Negretti was at the address shown until 1941 (war damage?).

3. Although no model number is marked it is probably a No. 14. The maker's name, Albert Nestler, is visible in the well of the stock. Late model 14s have red extensions to the scales. My guess is that was made around 1930.

4. On the back it has it has a data slip by C.N. Pickworth. In his book which went through several editions (C.N. Pickworth, The Slide Rule a Practical Manual) he gives a data slip which can be cut out and stuck to a rule. Whilst this one has many similarities to the one in the book it is not from the book. There is no sign of the cut marks that would necessary to make the page of the book into the space on the back of the rule.

5. O the box there is also some Arabic script - which I missed when I first looked at it - which appears to say Zamba.
