Model N4-T Vector type - Log-log dual base speed rule
Notes

1. This rule has 34 scales - a record?
2.  These include:

  • Three cube (root) scales.
  • Two square (root) scales.
  • Four log-log scales and 4 inverse log-log scales.
  • The hyperbolic scales (2 tanh and 1 sinh).
  • Two log scales (one Naperian and one base 10)

3. The rule is surprisingly compact. The surface area of the rule (including end braces) is 161 cm2, compared, for example with the Faber Castell 2/83N which has 30 scales but uses 215 cm2. This gives a very different "feel" to the two rules; the FC seems large and impressive whilst the Pickett feels much more functional.
4. The log-log scales cover the range 1.0025 to 1010. (A more normal maximum is 105.)
5. There are different displaced C/D scales. A displacement of p on one face and of e on the other.
6. The movement of the slide is extremely smooth - small movements can be made very accurately.

I have used the "standard" designations rather than those on the rule. Pickett labels their log-log scales from LL1 to LL4.
